Stranded in Snow Rescued for 17 Days

San Francisco - Six American family members were rescued after surviving for 17 days on dehydrated food when their recreational vehicle became stranded in deep snow in the Oregon wilderness, news reports said on Wednesday.

The six relatives - Pete Stivers, 29, and Marlo Hill-Stivers, 31; their children Sabastyan, 9, and Gabrayell, 8; and Stiver's mother and stepfather, Becky and Elbert Higginbotham - were stranded at more than 1 200m in a mountain range in southern Oregon when they had tried to take a shortcut on a two-hour journey to the coast.

Luckily, they had plenty of food to eat and a full tank of propane to keep their RV warm. But when supplies began to run low, the two Stivers set out on foot on Monday to find help and were found by a government worker a day later. A helicopter located the remaining family members and snow machines were sent to pick them up.

The Soul

My brother even how I explained and showed him the truth written on the Bible that the soul when man dies died also, wouldn't believe me. He didn't argue me using the Bible but by the story told by a patient in Patin-ay General Hospital, in Prosperidad, Agusan Sur.

There was a time that he and my mother brought my father to that hospital. I don't know what's his illness, but it might be because of his hypertension. My brother met a man who was stab several times to death. That man told my brother about his experiences from the time when people brought him to the hospital and during the operation. According to the man, he was dead actually when people carried him. He witnessed how people managed to save him by bringing him to the hospital. And then during the operation, he, as a soul already, has been observing the process. At the midst of the operation, the electric light was out so they used candles. He even tried to play with those doctors and nurses treating his body by playing those candles. And then after the operation, he was lost his way as a soul. And after two days, he was awaked lying in the hospital.

My brother believed strongly with this story. He even told this story to his friends and used as proof that the living soul of a dead man really exist.

Naniniwala ba kayo sa mangkukulam? I remember kasi a family friend na kilala bilang mangkukulam. Pero, I couldn't say na totoo ang mga bintang nila sa taong ito, kasi, unang una hindi ako naniniwala dito, and pangalawa wala pa akong nasaksihan na gumawa nito na successful sa pagkulam.

Doon kasi sa amin, halos lahat ng mga tambalan, ang laging itinuturo na dahilan ng pagkakasakit ay ang pangkukulam daw ng taong ito. And ang mga tao naman ay naniniwala agad sa sinasabi ng tambalang ito, na wala naman siyang maipakitang ebidensiya na magpapatunay sa kanilang alegasyon.

Pero kahit anong ikinukwento nila sa akin, ay hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala tungkol dito. Una, meron isang taong biktima ng food poisoning na lumapit sa tambalan at ang finding nila, kinulam daw ang pasyente. Subalit noong dalhin sa Doctor doon nalaman namin na ang pagsusuka niya at pagtatae ay bunga ng kinain niyang sirang pagkain, and that he confirmed naman na totoong may kinain siyang expired na pagkain. Pangalawa, halos lahat ng sakit na kaniyang tiningnan halos bunga ng pangkukulam.

Maari ngang totoo na may kulam dahil nakasulat din naman ito sa Biblia, pero yung magparatang tayo sa isang tao na kesyo isang mangkukulam ay isang bagay na hindi ko matanggap, lalo pa't wala tayong maipakitang patotoo sa ting alegasyon.
